Freeport, Maine Lodging

Brewster House is dedicated to providing comfortable, luxurious and unique Freeport, Maine lodging at its bed and breakfast inn.  Our policies ensure all guests enjoy the very best experience possible, so please read on.

COVID- 19 Post Pandemic Phased Stay Plan:

Phase 1: 

Timing:  Tentatively June 1 – June 30, 2020.

Reservations:

A maximum of 4 Rooms available to book with no more than 2 rooms per floor occupation.  (e.g.  Rooms 1; 2 & 4/ 3 & 5; 6 and 7).   The only exception being whole Inn reservations are available for one party at this time if requested.

Guests will be asked to restrict movement through the Inn in an effort to limit interaction with fellow guests.  A “trail map” for entering & exiting guest rooms will be provided in an effort to support effective social distancing.

In accordance with Maine State Law, reservations are limited to Maine Residents and guests from out of state that have quarantined for 14 days.

 Self Check In:

Guests will be greeted in advance of their stay with comprehensive email instructions in order to unlock the main door, locate their room, key inside, and review the aforementioned “traffic patterns.”  Keys will be found in the room upon check in.

Full payment will be requested at time of check in and ideally conducted via online processing.

On premise Dining & Meals: 

Guests will be assigned a specific table while on property.   Guests may use this table to enjoy their breakfast and take-out meals they have obtained from local restaurants.   The linens & table ware changed daily.

For those enjoying our BH ‘to go’ breakfast, this will be prepared each morning and will feature a warm bakery option (e.g. muffin, egg and cheese sandwich) and yogurt parfait with fresh fruit & granola along with single use utensils & napkins.  Breakfast will be delivered to you door.

Cookies & Afternoon treats will not be offered during this Phase

We will continue to offer beverages from either our ‘wine cave’ or bigBrewstah kegerator but will need to ask guests to call the Inn for assistance.

During this phase guests are asked to NOT congregate the Inn’s common areas for extended periods.  The parlour will be closed.

Housekeeping: 

During this critical time, no room refreshes will be offered. Call or text to request removal and any replacement or additional amenities needed (ie. Soap, Shampoo, Keurig coffee, or a change of towels)

Prior to arrival, rooms will be thoroughly, cleaned.  Hand sanitizer & alcohol swabs will be offered in each room for liberal consumption.

Upon departure, rooms will be blocked off for a minimum of 48 hours.  After such time, our housekeeping staff will clean the room taking all personal precautions (face mask & gloves) and EPA approved cleaning products in order to put the room ‘back into inventory.’

Bookings and Cancellations: A credit card is required to reserve a room at Brewster House.  We will charge $100.00 when booked. For reservations in excess of 3 days, we require a 50% deposit.  Full payment is due upon arrival. Seven days advance notice is normally required for cancellation. If a cancellation is made less than seven days before the arrival date at the inn, and we are unable to rent the room, we will retain a charge equal to one night’s lodging.  In the case of rentals over 3 days, we will retain the full deposit, returning whatever days we were able to rent beyond 50% of the time period reserved.  Any cancellation will incur a $25 cancellation fee to cover our transaction costs.

Cancellations due to COVID 19:

In consideration of COVID 19, we will be addressing cancellations on a case-by-case basis. IF you are sick or present any symptoms, we ask you to postpone your travel.  We are happy to work with you to reschedule and will issue a full credit without a processing fee.

IF we are forced to close by state mandate and you are not able to re-book, we will honor all cancellations due to the virus but reserve the right to return your deposit, less the standard, $25 transaction fee on a schedule that we dictate.

For some popular weekends (college graduations, campers weekends in July, etc.), rates at our B&B may be slightly higher. During our busy season (May 1st – November 1st), we require 2-night minimum weekend stays.

The posted rates do not include 9% Maine sales tax (unless indicated, as for some of our specials and packages). VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are accepted.

Check-in is after 3:00 p.m. and before 7 p.m.  Our door is locked at 9:00 p.m. Of course, once guests have checked-in, they can come and go at any time. If you are not able to check-in by 7 p.m., please contact us to make specific arrangements.

Checkout is prior to 11:00 a.m.

Smoking: For the comfort of all our guests, Brewster House provides smoke-free Freeport, Maine lodging. Those choosing to disregard our smoke-free policy will be subject to cleaning fees and are responsible to compensate Brewster House for future revenue lost when smoke renders a room unacceptable for incoming guests.

Pets: We are not able to accommodate pets of any kind at our bed and breakfast.

Children: Brewster House caters primarily to couples, families with older children and individuals on business or looking for a quiet, and often romantic getaway, without children. For that reason, and because of its delicate decorative and historic features, and for the health, comfort and safety of all our guests, the property is not generally appropriate for children under age 12. Both the Portland Head (#6) and Bass Harbor Suites (#7) are on the 3rd floor and include very low windows, and so are potentially dangerous for young children. Only a limited number of our rooms can suitably accommodate a third (or fourth) person, and charges for additional persons are as stated on the individual room page. Our Freeport, Maine lodging does not include high chairs, portable cribs, roll-away beds or a regular children’s menu.

Travel Agents: We welcome inquiries from travel agents, and we generally do pay a commission to professional travel agents upon receipt of a valid invoice from a genuine travel agency, after check-in and payment by the guest(s). For more information about this, please contact us.
