Reservations:
In an effort to create a safe & welcoming environment for our guests as well as our family, we strive for exemplary room cleanliness and care of common areas. We ask our guests postpone travel if ill or experiencing COVID symptoms. To that point, we highly suggest purchasing travel insurance as we will adhere to our policies in the event of air travel, weather, health related or other cancellations.
In the event you are enjoying an extended holiday with multiple stops before your visit with us and develop symptoms, a rapid test (found at our neighborhood CVS) is encouraged.
Self Check-In:
We are happy to welcome guests personally, but we can offer a self check-in advance of your stay with comprehensive email instructions in order to unlock the main door and locate their room with key inside.
Full payment will be requested at time of check-in and ideally conducted via online processing.
On & Off Premises Dining & Gatherings:
If you have concerns about dining indoors, we kindly request you alert us prior to or upon arrival, so we can discuss alternative arrangements.
We will continue to offer beverages from both Lil’ Miss WineHaus wine and bigBrewstah kegerators. Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes are provided, and we ask guests to use them liberally.
Housekeeping:
In consideration of all we’ve learned through COVID, daily room refreshes will not be conducted. Call or text to request removal and any replacement or additional amenities needed (i.e. soap, shampoo, Keurig coffee, or a change of towels)
Prior to arrival, rooms will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. Hand sanitizer & alcohol swabs will be offered in each room for liberal use.
After departure, our housekeeping staff will wait to enter rooms as long as possible between reservations. Rooms are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, taking all personal precautions, opening windows for optimal air circulation, and utilizing EPA-approved cleaning products in order to put the room ‘back into inventory.’
General Information
Bookings and Cancellations: A credit card is required to reserve a room at Brewster House Bed & Breakfast. We will charge $100.00 per room when booked. For reservations in excess of 3 days, we may require up to a 50% deposit. Full payment is due upon arrival. Seven days’ advance notice is required for cancellation. If a cancellation is made less than seven days before the arrival date at the inn, and we are unable to rent the room, we will charge equal to one night’s lodging. In the case of rentals over 3 days, we will charge the full deposit or value up to 50% of the reservation. Any cancellation will incur a $25 cancellation fee to cover our transaction costs.
Cancellations due to COVID 19:
We strongly encourage purchasing travel insurance as we will adhere to our policies in the event of air travel, weather, health related or other cancellations.

For some popular weekends (holidays, college graduations, campers weekends in July, etc.), rates at our B&B may be slightly higher. During our busy season (May 1st – November 1st), we require 2-3 night minimum weekend stays.
The posted rates do not include 9% Maine sales tax (unless indicated, as for some of our specials and packages). VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are accepted.
Check-in is after 3:00 p.m. and before 7 p.m. Our door is generally locked after 8:30 p.m. Of course, once guests have checked-in, they can come and go at any time. If you are not able to check-in by 7 p.m., please contact us to make specific arrangements or obtain self check-in instructions.
Check-out is prior to 11:00 a.m.
Smoking: For the comfort of all our guests, Brewster House Bed & Breakfast provides smoke-free Freeport, Maine lodging. Those choosing to disregard our smoke-free policy will be subject to cleaning fees and are responsible to compensate Brewster House Bed & Breakfast for future revenue lost when smoke renders a room unacceptable for incoming guests.
Pets: We are not able to accommodate pets of any kind at our bed and breakfast.
Children: Brewster House Bed & Breakfast caters primarily to families with older children, individuals on business, or couples looking for a quiet, romantic getaway, without children. For that reason, and because of its delicate decorative and historic features, and for the health, comfort and safety of all our guests, the property is not generally appropriate for children under age 10. Both the Portland Head (#6) and Bass Harbor Suites (#7) are on the 3rd floor and include very low windows, and so are potentially dangerous for very young children. Only a limited number of our rooms can suitably accommodate a third (or fourth) person, and charges for additional persons are as stated on the individual room page. Ask us about help with a high chair or Pack & Play but please note a children’s menu is not offered; we will do our best to adapt the daily menu to appeal smaller guests.
Travel Agents: We welcome inquiries from travel agents, and we generally do pay a commission to professional travel agents upon receipt of a valid invoice from a genuine travel agency, after check-in and payment by the guest(s). For more information about this, please contact us.
